Het internet heeft voor een nieuwe vorm van communiceren gezorgd. Het beeld van onszelf dat we de wereld insturen is volledig te manipuleren en iedereen die een online profiel heeft, maakt een doordachte selectie van beelden. Om authentiek over te komen op het internet posten mensen veel foto’s. Veel selfies. In dit project onderzoek ik het in scène zetten van een leven. Zonder drama is er geen show, maar zonder publiek evenmin.

The internet has given rise to a new form of communicating. We can now fully manipulate the image of ourself that we send off into the world, and everyone with an online profile does this to some degree, merely by deciding what to post and what not. To create an authentic image, people post a lot of pictures. A lot of selfies. In this project I study the staging of a life. There is no show without some drama, but neither is there without an audience.
