Het behelst een cirkelvormig, optische reis van respresentatie, teken en abstractie. De betekenis van een symbool vloeit voort uit het representatieproces. De representatie bedient zich op zijn beurt van abstracte basiselementen. Deze elementen bezitten dan weer het vermogen als symbool te worden afgebeeld.
