Onze alledaagse communicatie zit boordevol met contouren. Deze contouren vormen “slechts" de omtrek van een inhoud. Ze zweven rondom onze alledaagse interacties. Het zijn gedachten, aanrakingen, interpretaties, vragen, gebaren, stemgeluiden, misverstanden, gevoelens, stiltes,… We zijn ons niet bewust van deze contouren omdat ze zich in de alledaagsheid bevinden. We zijn er "gewoon" aan geworden. Maar wat als we nu eens onze blik richten op contouren van alledaagse communicatie? Wat vertellen ze ons over onszelf en onze interacties met de anderen? En waarom er onze aandacht op vestigen? Omdat contouren van alledaagse communicatie ons de werkelijkheid doen ontdekken in al haar banaliteit, absurditeit én schoonheid.

Our everyday communication is saturated with contours. Contours that are ‘only’ the outlines of things, floating around our everyday interactions. They are thoughts, touches, interpretations, questions, gestures, voices, misunderstandings, feelings, silences … We remain unaware of them, because they are part of the quotidian. We ‘simply’ got used to them. But what if we were able to focus on these contours of everyday communication? What would they tell us about ourselves and our interaction with others? But why would we focus on them, you ask? Because they reveal to us reality in all of its banality, absurdity and beauty.
