In ÜBER-GANG creëren 4 performers een voortdurende transformatie. Beweging, woord, beeld en geluid verstrengelen zich in ritmische overgangen, streven naar samenwerking, geven zichzelf betekenis of veroorzaken chaos. De kracht van beïnvloeding is onvermijdelijk. Het maakt duidelijk hoe variabel een ruimte, een handeling, een persoonlijkheid is.

Voor dit project werkte Evelyne Verhellen heel nauw samen met video kunstenares Tabea Rothfuchs, performer/danser Ann Dauberschmidt en muzikant Daniel Brandl.

Über-gänge – transities definiëren het leven: alles rondom ons en binnenin ons verschuift constant van de ene toestand naar de andere. Bij de soms heel kleine transities wordt maar weinig stilgestaan. Samen met deze groep kunstenaars onderzochten we binnen de verschillende disciplines hoe deze veranderingen ontstaan en beïnvloed worden van buitenaf. Hoe we een transitie tot stilstand kunnen brengen. Hoe een ruimte, een handeling, een geluid verschuift in betekenis. Hoe onvermijdelijk het is de persoon te worden die anderen in je (blijven) zien. Hoe iemand variabel wordt en van de ene in de andere persoonlijkheid glijdt. Hoe we daar telkens opnieuw verbaasd over zijn.

In ÜBER-GANG, four performers create a continuous transformation. Movement, word, image and sound intertwine in rhythmic transitions, strive towards cooperation, give meaning to themselves, or cause chaos. The power of suggestion is inescapable. It makes clear how variable things like a room, an act, an identity are.
For this project, Evelyne Verhellen collaborated closely with video artist Tabea Rothfuchs, performer/dancer Ann Dauberschmidt and musician Daniel Brandl.
'Über-gänge' — transitions define life: everything that surrounds us or is inside us is constantly shifting from one state to another. The sometimes very small transitions often pass unnoticed. With this group of artists, we investigated across different disciplines how these changes arise and how they are influenced from the outside. How we can halt a transition. How a room, an act, a sound’s meaning shifts. How inevitable it is to become the person others see in you. How someone becomes variable and moves from one personality into another. How this keeps surprising us.
