Yifan Yan was born in Nanchang,China. She started playing the flute at the age of 12, from 2006 to 2014 she was tutored and mentored by flutists such as Ms. Gongai Zhu,who is the professor in Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Mr. André Sebald, who is the professor in Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and Ms.Ruth Legelli, who is the first flutist in Düsseldorf Symphonic Orchestra. Yifan was involved in chamber music and orchestral projects, also has had opportunities to perform in China and Germany.
From September 2014, she starts to study at The Royal Conservatory of Ghent with Myriam Graulus.
