De betonnen sculpturen van Liesbeth Henderickx bestaan uit ronde vormen die zij trapsgewijs opbouwt. Twee dimensionale basisvormen die omgevormd en gestapeld worden zijn het startpunt van haar zoektocht om ruimte, licht en beweging binnen te brengen in haar sculpturen.

Dit doet zij op een fijne en gedetailleerde manier, die sterk contrasteert met het beton dat we vooral kennen als materiaal voor zware bouwconstructies. De harmonie en rust die heerst binnen en buiten de sculpturen doet niet meer vermoeden dat de sculptuur is opgebouwd uit strakke tweedimensionale computer tekeningen. Het creatieproces dat in 2013 van start ging, wordt beïnvloed door details die Liesbeth kopieert uit verschillende dagdagelijkse voorwerpen en samenvoegt tot een harmonische geheel.

Liesbeth Henderickx’ concrete sculptures consist of incrementally assembled rounded shapes. These two-dimensional basic shapes that are transformed and stacked are the starting point of her search to introduce space, light, and movement into her sculptures.
She proceeds meticulously and with great attention to detail, in a manner that stands in stark contrast to the concrete that brings mainly associations of heavy construction. The harmony and peace invoked in and around her sculptures belies their origins in austere two-dimensional digital drawings.
This creative process, that started in 2013, is influenced by details Liesbeth copies from various everyday objects and brings together to make a harmonious unity.
